She was born on the 22nd of January 1981 in Arcadia, California and attended Loyola Marymount University where she studied film production. Her first major role was as a character in The Crow: City of Angels in which she was portrayed as heroin addict, a teenager called Grace. She auditioned for the drama 7th Heaven during the filming The Crow. The year 2000 was the first time she played one small role on The Amanda Show and in 2003, she was a part of The Amanda Show. In 2003, she starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Right on Track. In 2005, an uneasy Beverly Mitchell played in the Saw 2 sequel to the horror film. Saw 2, as she admitted that she is not a big fan of films that are scary, and then in 2007 she appeared in the Lifetime movie The Movie I know What I Saw. In 2010 it was revealed that Mitchell was to be joining the cast of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, as a school counselor. the show began in the beginning of January the year 2011. Her lifelong ambition was to become a country music performer, and in 2006 she realized this dream through the recording of her debut album, Beverly Mitchell, with record producer, D. Scott Miller. She wrote eight of the songs featured on the album, including the hit song, "Angel."
