
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on July 10, 1980. 1 She is an American actor, singer and charitable philanthropist. Simpson, who was 17 years old, began her career in the choirs of churches. The singer was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) was a huge success, selling two million copies in the United States and saw the commercial popularity of the single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson took on a more mature image for her second album, Irresistible (2001), and its title track became her second top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This Skin (2003) was her third studio album, was sold to three million copies across the United States. In her previous professional career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and later wedding to Nick Lachey along with whom she appeared on the MTV reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's debut Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and it was certified gold. She made her debut on film in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. She also composed the cover version of "These Boots Are Made for Walking" for the soundtrack of the film. Simpson released her fifth album, A Public Affair, in 2006 and was featured in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson was a convert to country music following the release of her sixth studio album Do You Know (2008). Simpson has also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, a fashion-focused line that offers 34 categories of products. To date, the brand has generated over $1 billion in sales and is the highest-performing celebrity licensing brand in history. Simpson was also a guest on The Price of Beauty, a reality television show in the year 2010. She also judged the clothing designs for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married Eric Johnson and has three children.
